A device used to indicate the present position of the rudder blade, usually fitted in the wheelhouse, bridge wings and engine control room. The Rudder Angle Indication system is separate to the steering system and is for indication only. It consists of following units
1. Rudder Feed Back Unit/Rudder Angle Sensors
Rudder Feedback Unit reports back information about the position of the rudder to the Rudder position indicator. The rudder feedback unit is installed in such a way that the arm of the feedback unit will accurately follow the rudder arm.
Two Models of Rudder Angle Sensors are Available
a. Contact-Type Sensors
b. Non-Contact-Type Sensors
2. Rudder Angle Indicators
Rudder angle Indicator display unit will display the rudder position over arrange of 35 degrees both port and star board side
